BRISTOL, Tenn. — Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) announced its endorsement this week for Tennessee state Sen. Jon Lundberg (R-04) in the upcoming August primary elections.
As a legislator, Lundberg has been involved in the leadership of the House Republican Caucus, serving as floor leader and chairman of the Civil Justice Committee. In his Senate role, he has served as vice chairman of the Judiciary and Commerce Committees. He currently serves as chairman of the Education Committee and as a member of the Judiciary Committee.
In its endorsement of Lundberg, AFP issued the following statement: “As chair of the Senate Education Committee, Sen. Lundberg has been crucial to advancing educational reforms and public-school choice. Beyond his support for school choice, he is a positive voice for the free-market, public safety and healthcare; he supported key reforms to victims’ restitution and certificate-of-need (CON).”
AFP Action is committed to electing candidates who will drive policy change and facilitate the building of broad policy coalitions that remove barriers to opportunity and help people improve their lives.
“I thank AFP, not only for their endorsement, but for their grassroots efforts on behalf of candidates throughout the country who are policy champions,” Lundberg said. “It is my sincere hope that I am re-elected to help continue our work toward better educational opportunities and resources for Tennessee’s children, along with greater fiscal responsibility and more limited government.”
